Racines changes hands
After two years of cooking up a storm in the Passage des Panoramas, Pierre Jancou is selling Racines and moving to the South of France.
Customers and fans of Paris's most natural wine bar need not fear, however.
New owner David Lanher will be preserving both the spirit and the staff that have made Racines such a hit : talented young chef Sven Chartier will continue in the kitchen, and talented young nose Ewen Lemoigne will continue to preside over one of the best natural wine cellars anywhere in France.
Escape to the country
Pierre himself is moving to the Drôme to spend more time with his young family.
He expects to be opening a table d'hôte down there sometime next year (check this site for further details as soon as they become available).
Pierre will continue to import his fine italian charcuterie, cheese, and other products, and has plans to launch a new site selling them, alongside some very natural wines, in the offing.
